About T.R.
State Representative T.R. Rowe was first elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives in November 1998 and has since been reelected five times. He represents the 123rd Assembly District, which includes most of the Town of Trumbull.
Representative Rowe is a former Trumbull Town Councilman, serving from 1995 to 1999. On the Town Council, Rowe was elected Majority Leader in 1997 and held that post until his departure in January 1999 to begin his term as State Representative.
Representative Rowe has lived in Trumbull for more than 35 years, where he resides with his wife Michelle, sons Joseph and James and daughter Gemma.
He is a cum laude graduate of Catholic University in Washington, D.C., where in 1992 he earned a Bachelor of Arts majoring in American Politics with a minor in Philosophy. Representative Rowe holds a law degree from the Quinnipiac University School of Law and is a member of the Connecticut and Federal Bar. He is also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Bridgeport Bar Association.
Representative Rowe is a trial attorney at the Law Offices of McNamara & Kenney in Bridgeport. He has a general law practice with an emphasis on insurance defense and personal injury litigation.
He is an Honorary Member of the Board of Directors of Caroline House, an educational center serving the women of the Bridgeport area by teaching classes in English, basic computer and life skills. Representative Rowe also is a member of the Endangered Lands Coalition, which is dedicated to protecting our open space and water supply. Also, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Sara Taccone Foundation, which promotes the arts throughout the Trumbull region.
Appointed to the General Assembly’s influential Judiciary Committee, Representative Rowe is an advocate of strong anti-crime and victims’ rights laws. He believes strongly in the rights of the unborn. He is also Chairman of the Regulations Review Committee and as such, is one of only two Republican members to chair a committee of the General Assembly. He has also been appointed to the Planning and Development Committee and Select Committee on Housing.
Representative Rowe is a strong fiscal watchdog and has consistently opposed tax increases. He believes the state both spends and bonds at a greater rate than is appropriate and has worked tirelessly to curb spending.
